This December, the legendary Pixies will help christen Boston’s newest live music venue. Fresh off the release earlier this month of the alt-rock band’s seventh album Beneath the Eyrie, Frank Black and Co. revealed this morning they will play Boston’s Big Night Live on December 11.
Big Night Live is part of the new Hub on Causeway development that sits next to TD Garden in North Station. The concert hall spans roughly 40,000-square-feet and will have a capacity for live music of around 1,500, according to reports, positioning it as a venue that concert promoter Live Nation hopes to fill between the 1,000-capacity Paradise Rock Club and 2,500-capacity House of Blues.
The Pixies, in their tour announcement this morning, described their upcoming dates as “special intimate shows”. See the full announcement below; tickets to the Big Night Live show go on sale this Friday (September 27).
Though no official opening date has been announced, Big Night Live’s upcoming calendar also features The Interrupters (November 4), Danny Brown (November 15), and Neon Indian (November 17).
