How many milestones does an artist have to reach before they can authentically weigh in on the uphill journey to success? Maybe there’s no set number — but if there were, Leo The Kind has definitely surpassed it. After a stint with Republic Records, contributing music to a Nike ad campaign, and racking up millions of streams, the Boston-born musician is sharing advice on tenacity in the new video for “HELLUVA RIDE,” from his August release THE Album.
Strolling along a country road — apparently thumbing for a ride — the visual finds Leo The Kind contemplating the place between greed and a go-getter attitude. “If you’re about a daily routine/You might have to reconsider things,” he sings, offering the gentlest possible version of “buckle up.” (It’s no coincidence that he released a project called This Music Sh*t Is Hard in 2024.)
The release’s poppy breeziness belies the battles ahead — maybe that’s what makes it so great. Jump in the passenger seat below.
