We’re so overwhelmed by everything these days, but even in this fetid boomer ball bag that is life in 2026, there are still a few bands that make us press pause on the static when they come correct with a new tune. Jungle is one of those bands, and this week the British crew stake a claim to the Song of the Summer, if such a thing even exists anymore, with a groovy, sun-kissed disco-pop bop fit for a heatwave called “The Wave.” Here’s a pullquote for the Insta Stories recap: It’s just fucking nice. “The Wave” is the second track off the group’s forthcoming album Sunshine (are we sensing a theme?), due out August 14 via AWAL. This summer jam showcases Lydia Kitto’s playful vocals alongside some crisp R&B instrumentation from founding songwriters and producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, and the whole thing works nicely. Do the J-U-N-G-L-E, one, two, three, four, fight. It’ll cook the asphalt under your dancing feet, and Jungle bring their beat bounce to North America as summer starts to fade, hitting Agganis Arena on September 15.
