Look, we don’t know who Sophia is, but she must be doing something right if four members of Van Buren Records are rapping about her. A portion of the Brockton collective — Luke Bar$, Jiles, Meech, and FELIX! — last month (February 25) dropped “Sophia,” a laid-back single and video that pops with bursts of saxophone. Whether the titular person is real, or just an archetype or character, is unclear — but what is obvious is that Van Buren Record’s collaborative chemistry is as strong as ever. Clocking in at 3:42, the tune is a tight stack of verses that lets each member’s signature flair breathe.
