It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt — or at least until Shawn Carter comes home for a bit. Then it’s all of that, and then some.
As he makes his rounds back home amidst a visit from his transplant homeland in Tennessee, the Rockland native is bringing an all-out smorgasbord of comedic and pop culture fun to The Comedy Studio in Harvard Square on Saturday (January 17) with Sudden Jest, a comedy game show – something that Carter has made a habit of curating and turning into a scene staple over the years – that includes a mish-mash of stand-up, spelling bees, spontaneous debates, and perhaps even some relationship drama sprinkled in for good measure.
While the show will follow a specific mystery theme, we already know what Carter is capable of in this realm of the comedy world, so it’s certainly something you won’t want to miss.
