Mic’d Up: Matt Shore does songs at us to celebrate a milestone

Via Screengrab

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Matt Shore’s next show this week, but he’s not too focused on that. He just wants to do songs at us — and by George, that’s exactly what he’s going to do.

Marking the biggest show of his career to date, the Boston-based comedian and musician sets up the whole band (a.k.a. “him”), as well as his trusty ironing board, for a milestone night on Wednesday (September 25) at Laugh Boston. Fully equipped with songs that span a plethora of topics from dealing with anxiety and trying to pay student loans, to taking up defenses against wild turkeys around Boston, Shore is as ready we are to have his multi-faceted wit unleashed on a hometown crowd.

It may certainly look like your mother’s basement when you arrive at the club, just as Shore intended, but he has a night planned that will make the whole room feel like the bulkhead has at least been opened for a bit.

MATT SHORE DOES SONGS AT YOU :: Wednesday, September 24 at Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston, MA :: 7 p.m., $32.22 :: Advance tickets
