Miracle Blood take us channel surfing on the ‘Pets and Owners’ video

They say life happens in the background, and that feels especially true in the new video from Miracle Blood. Last summer the riffy Boston trio took us out for a wild ride through the mean streets of Allston, but that frenzied jaunt tired us way the fuck out, so we’re back on the couch channel surfing to nurse the bangover.

As we flip through the endless stream of channels, we’re greeted with “Pets and Owners,” the latest dose of Miracle Blood video magic. The visual was directed by Matt Bass Media, he of fellow Boston noise-slingers The Endorphins, and the track is from the band’s noisy November album Hello Hell.

“I think ‘Pets And Owners’ does a good job of showing the range of what we do on Hello Hell as an album,” says guitarist and vocalist Andrew Wong. “It has weird noisy parts, heavy parts, and catchy parts, but they all somehow work together. Lyrically, it’s about how draining having an unfulfilling job can be. Even a job you don’t care about at all ends up taking up such a big chunk of your time and energy. It can make you a zombie. But we had already done a zombie video, so we decided to mess around with a green screen for this one. It’s supposed to be like flipping through crappy TV stations late at night after a long day of work. We had a blast making it. We basically just told [Matt] to just go nuts with backgrounds and editing. He nailed it. It came out hilarious.”

Miracle Blood’s Hello Hell Spring 2025 Tour picks back up a week from tonight in Worcester; get all the dates, including a May 17 homecoming at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston, after the video jump below.
