CinemaCon 2025: Paramount teases Liam Neeson’s ‘Naked Gun’

Over in Vegas, Paramount just wrapped up their CinemaCon presentation, and they definitely won the “at Home” front. Sure, they brought Tom Cruise out on stage to both sell Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning (who also paid tribute to Val Kilmer with a moment of silence); they wowed with footage of Glen Powell in Edgar Wright’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s The Running Man (which we keep getting confused with The Long Walk, even though we love the Arnold take on Running Man from the ’80s), and they even showed off a bit of footage from Roofman, Derek Cianfrece’s weird-and-wacky story of Channing Tatum robbing McDonalds’ and sleeping in Toys R Us ceilings. But you won’t see any of that, and neither are we, because that was only for the crowds on hand.

What you will see, however, is a trailer for the rebootquel take on The Naked Gun, starring the one-and-only Liam Neeson. This is a combination like peanut butter and chocolate, and it deserves your full attention.

Peep it:

Here’s the briefest synopsis, and you better bet they’re making Taken jokes:

“Only one man has the particular set of skills… to lead Police Squad and save the world! Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson) follows in his father’s footsteps in ‘THE NAKED GUN,’ directed by Akiva Schaffer (‘Saturday Night Live,’ ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’) and from producer Seth MacFarlane (‘Ted,’ ‘Family Guy’). Joining the case are cast Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, with Danny Huston.”

The Naked Gun will hit theaters on August 1. We know better than to be excited for this, but we can’t wait to see Neeson do his best Leslie Nielsen. Also, if you don’t follow Pamela Anderson’s Substack, you should! It’s a really nice read.
