Japanese Breakfast, The Melancholy Tour, May 7
There is a healthy list of anticipated albums soon arriving in 2025, and near the top of the list is the latest from Japanese Breakfast. The celebrated project of musician, singer, songwriter, and author Michelle Zauner releases For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women) in March via Dead Oceans, and quickly follows with a North American tour that plays Coachella Music and Arts Festival and ACL Live before appearing at Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway on May 7. According to the album announcement, the 10-track effort, led by new single “Orlando In Love,” is said to explore “the darker waves that roil within, the moody, fecund field of melancholy, long held to be the psychic state of poets on the verge of inspiration. The result is an artistic statement of purpose: A mature, intricate, contemplative work that conjures the romantic thrill of a gothic novel.” Tickets go on sale on Friday (January 10) at 10 a.m. local time.
