“It’s not that hard to know me if you wanna,” CHYLD confesses in his song “Not Human” — and he’s got an 18-track tour of his psyche to prove it. The Boston artist today (November 22) released his sophomore album Inside My Brain, a “mind simulator” that cycles through a gymnastic variety of pop to swerve around CHYLD’s noggin. Switching between urgent electro-pop (“Runaway”), acoustic bedroom pop (“Hideaway”), and pop-slanted hip-hop (“CMIYC”), Inside My Brain belongs next to Neon Trees’ 2014 album Pop Psychology in record stores. Rarely are invitations this vulnerable and danceable. Take the tour with CHYLD below.
