Finally, some good news for what’s shaping up to be a miserable 2025: The Murder Capital are set to release new album Blindness on February 21, and the Irish post-punk band marks the record with a gritty, dirge-like single of muck and mire called “Words Lost Meaning.” This deceptively dark new track follows the incendiary “Can’t Pretend To Know,” which landed on September’s V List, and as usual, there’s lots to dissect both musically and lyrically. “’Words Lost Meaning’ is where love goes to die,” says Murder Capital frontman James McGovern. “When the words ‘I love you’ are used without thought, without feeling, even as a way to close a conversation, they become stale and diffused. No words mean more than those three combined.” Apply your own life’s definition on the track below, and dedicate accordingly.
