Don’t look now, but Hard-Fi’s forever unfuckwithable debut album Stars of CCTV turns 20 next summer. But the past few months have reshaped the enduring British indie band back into a modern-day force, and this Friday (November 15) Richard Archer and the boys drop new EP Don’t Go Making Plans, an incendiary record of glossy hooks and whipsmart wordplay that holds up with their greatest hits of yesterday. Back in May we hyped the confrontational title track, which might achieve an even greater relevancy in the year ahead given the subject matter, and now we’re presented with fiery new single “Don’t Need You,” a street-walkin’ swagger bomb of defiant cool. Crank it up below, and check out the signed, numbered, transparent red 12-inch copies of Don’t Go Making Plans that should look as lethal on the turntable as it sounds coming out of the speakers.
