Wallice, February 4

Nearly four years after we first hyped her striking Gen Z-minded single “23”, Wallice is rolling back into town to play Brighton Music Hall in Allston on February 4. And the Los Angeles alt-pop artist will do so showing off her debut album in November’s The Jester. Earlier this month we were treated to a standout single from the record in the fluttering and magnetic “Deadbeat,” where Wallice’s vocals jump to the front of human contact. Here’s what she has to say about it: “I wrote ‘Deadbeat’ last October after a falling out with someone in my life. It is probably my most personal song to date — to be honest, it’s a very touchy subject that’s hard for me to talk about, but I am so proud of the vulnerability in this song. Using music to work through these emotions was a very cathartic process, and I think that feeling will resonate.” Tickets go on sale Thursday (October 18) at 10 a.m. local time.
