As we draw closer to Election Day, tensions are rising higher with every campaign ad, debate, and giant flag flying freely from the back of a rusted out pick-up. We’ve all had enough, and if you’re looking for a little bit of resolve, or commiseration at the very least, Jon Stewart is coming to town help us out.
As announced earlier this week, the legendary comedian, satirist and former (but also periodically current) host of The Daily Show will be making his way to Worcester’s Hanover Theatre on October 26, as part of a limited run of dates of his ongoing An Evening with… show. The trip to Wormtown marks Stewart’s first show in Massachusetts since 2018, when he took the Wang Theatre by storm alongside Dave Chappelle.
Stewart’s return to stand-up in the form of this intimate show comes following the cancellation of his latest socially-charged series, The Problem with Jon Stewart, which ran on Apple TV for two seasons. The now bearded Stewart has also recently made his way to the big screen as a supporting voice in John Krasinski’s IF, and appeared as a guest on John Mulaney’s Everybody’s in L.A. as part of this year’s Netflix Is A Joke Fest. To kick things off in 2024, Stewart also returned to his longtime throne as a periodic host of The Daily Show earlier this year following the departure of Trevor Noah and a revolving door of guest hosts, much to the delight of longtime fans of the show.
Tickets for the Worcester show are on sale.
