When the Red Sox are away, the bands will play. While Jarren Duran and the boys continue to battle out west, taking on the Colorado Rockies in a 2007 World series rematch, Fenway Park continues to host big-ticket concerts.
After fielding Noah Kahan, Kane Brown, and Foo Fighters for a sweet triple-play over the weekend, blink-182 slides into home tonight (July 23) as Kenmore Square goes pop-punk. The trio brings their prankster punk to the ballpark a little more than a year after headlining TD Garden, and former Massachusetts governor and noted blink superfan Charlie Baker must be thrilled.
The classic blink lineup of Tom DeLonge, Travis Barker, and Mark Hoppus dropped a new album called One More Time… last fall, their first in more than a decade, and the whole neighborhood should be one big party for this show — we assume we’ll hear cover bands playing all the familiar hits up and down Lansdowne, especially with Pierce the Veil and Ekkstacy on tap as openers.
After this recent hit parade, the Fenway Park Summer Concert Series picks back up next month with Def Leppard and Journey (August 5) and Green Day (August 7).
