Whether it’s the charming smile, or his generally laid back demeanor, Jeremiah Watkins may seem like a calming presence if you aren’t familiar with his comedy. However, if you’re new to what he does, you’ll learn soon enough that he is, in fact, anything but chill when it comes to unleashing jokes on stage.
Equipped with a new hour when he hits the stage at Laugh Boston tonight (July 19), Watkins continues an ascent in the comedy realm that has only increased in velocity thanks to the praise he has garnered as a result of the success of his multi-faceted approach to the stage, as well as his smash-hit monthly live stand-up series, Stand-Up On The Spot, which has found a home at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, but has also found its way to New York, Montreal, Austin and more since catching the attention of his ever-widening audience.
In addition to his keen ability to quickly dial into a room with his dangerously sharp joke writing and physical delivery, Watkins has also released two highly successful stand-up specials, with 2020’s Family Reunion on Amazon Prime Video, and most recently with his 2023 hour-long special Daddy on YouTube.
