This Show Is Tonight: Madness bring the ‘Beyond’ to Boston

Every now and then we must travel “One Step Beyond” the confines of “Our House,” and there’s no better way to know “It Must Be Love” than seeing Madness on their first North American tour in a dozen years.

The legendary English ska-pop band announced a handful of stateside dates around an appearance a few days ago at Las Vegas’ Punk Rock Bowling (which apparently all our friends attended), and included in the run is a dance party tonight (May 29) with Fishbone at MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

Last November, Madness released their eighth album, Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’est la Vie, and now they show it off alongside all the hits on this stateside run dubbed C’est La Vie In America.

“I remember the first time we were in the  USA, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, The Mud Club, ABC City,” says Madness frontman Suggs in a press release. “I remember Jelly Bean Benetiz, Madonna, Beastie Boys, Run DC Link Ray. I remember California, Fishbone, BossTones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Whisky Gogo, The Dead Kennedys. America was everything we hoped it would be, we were small fish and we still are and we can’t wait to be swimming in those waters again!”
