After conquering the United Kingdom a few times over, Holly Humberstone has (finally) set her sights on America. The rising English songwriter, who released new album Paint My Bedroom Black last fall, crosses the Atlantic for a white-hot 15-date spring tour, dubbed The Holly Humberstone Show, that includes a twirl tonight (May 9) at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston.
At the core of Humberstone’s lyrical magnetism is the ability to transpose her coming-of-age experiences with our very own, as heard on October’s “Kissing In Swimming Pools”, as well as a string of ’24 singles like “Cocoon” and “Dive,” weaving tales of love and loss and life with a delicate balance.
It’s a vibe that first caught our attention back in Summer 2020 with one of her earliest tracks in “Overkill”, and along the way Humberstone continues to adeptly crystallize these seemingly fleeting moments into a emotive compass for navigating through life. America will soon catch up — and catch on. We hope.
