We don’t got no crystal ball, but we suspect that this year’s Levitate Music & Arts Festival is going to be sublime.
The 11th edition of the South Shore festival — which is scheduled for July 5, 6, and 7 at the Marshfield Fairgrounds — will welcome headliners Mt. Joy, Boston’s Lake Street Dive, and Sublime this Fourth of July weekend. Sublime’s set in particular should be a historic standout of this summer’s concert season, now that a new generation of Nowell has joined the ska punk band; as of late 2023, Jakob Nowell (son of the late, founding frontman Bradley Nowell) replaced prior vocalist Rome Ramirez.
Some of the other artists on this year’s lineup include Tash Sultana, Cory Wong, Iration, Jon Muq, and area acts The Elovaters and Lee Ross. The 2024 lineup is notably less diverse than past years, as white men in roots, reggae, and country like Oliver Anthony, Neal Francis, and Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country comprise the majority of the performers.
Weekend passes — which go on sale Thursday at noon — fetch $259 for general admission and $559 for VIP access. Single-day tickets will be available later this year. Check out the full lineup on the flyer below.
