We’re not sure exactly if bar italia take their band moniker from the closing track of the greatest Britpop album of all time or via the beloved Soho cafe (probably the former, though we’re not looking it up), but details like that are unimportant when you’re one of the most buzzed about groups in the world. The striking London dream-rock trio of Nina Cristante, Sam Fenton, and Jezmi Fehmi have had a stellar 2023, playing a fuckton of sold out shows in Europe and the United Kingdom (as well as a spring run here in the states) all while releasing albums like May’s Tracey Denim and last month’s The Twits. Oozing with deadpan indie cool, the type that we’re missing from music these day, bar italia have now returned to North America for a year-end tour that delivers the goods to Brighton Music Hall this evening (December 5). The trio should be on plenty of Best of 2023 lists from here through December, so hit Allston to see what all the fuss is about.
