Alt-pop comet and viral TikTok star Addison Grace comes back to town tonight (November 2) for a show at Brighton Music Hall, and they arrive armed with a kaleidoscopic single called “White Lie” that first captured our attention over the summer.
The buoyant bop should sound huge inside the Allston rock club, alongside the other magnetic tracks on Grace’s debut album Diving Lessons, which hit a few weeks ago via AWAL.
“I’m very fond of this song because it’s the first look into my developed and discovered sound for my debut album Diving Lessons,” the California singer-songwriter and online personality says. “While ‘White Lie’ is a high energy song about not being able to love an exhausting people-pleaser, Diving Lessons as a whole explores what it’s like to heal from a traumatic event or person — including both the before and the during. ‘White Lie’ felt like the perfect bridge from my current sound to my new sound while also introducing the complex emotions this album has. I hope everyone can love it as much as I do!”
