They say there are no more good new band names out there. Well, poptropicaslutz! say hold my tear. The New York duo of Christian Cicilia and Nick Crawford prep the release of October EP Face For The Radio with an emotive and infectious new tune called “True Colors”; it’s got enough retro-aughts nostalgia to stir up an intoxicating cocktail of emo, alt-pop, hyper-punk, and whatever else fits between the spaces and before the exclamation point. “‘True Colors’ is a song about the hope for greener pastures with the one you ‘love,’ or coming to terms with the truth — you’re beating a dead horse,” the duo states. “You know deep down you’re a desirable suitor and ‘replacing’ them would be fairly easy, but letting go of someone you’ve grown so attached to is easier said than done. Old habits die hard.” Show yours below.
