It may not be their first time holding court at The Wilbur, but if their last visit was any sort of evidence of a lasting impression, Judge John Hodgman and Bailiff Jesse Thorn are once again ready to bring order to the court on Tremont Street.
As announced earlier this week, Hodgman and Thorn are set to return to The Wilbur with a new live edition of their hit podcast, and a brand new docket of entertaining cases, comedic judgments, and ultimately ironclad verdicts, as part of their Van Freaks Roadshow tour on November 6. The trek to Boston (a homecoming for Brookline native Hodgman) is part of an international 17-date tour that will also include overseas stops in Ireland, the U.K., and Denmark, before returning stateside for shows in Chicago, St. Paul, Austin, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and more before wrapping up in Brooklyn on November 7.
It’s a tough pill to swallow that the holidays really aren’t all that far away at this point in the year, and Chevy Chase is making his way to Medford to make sure we have the best transition possible into the annual run of Yuletide tension headaches. On November 30 at Chevalier Theatre, the comedy icon will be making his way to town to host An Evening With Chevy Chase, following a screening of the all-time classic 1989 film National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. He previously hosted a similar event at Lynn Auditorium in December 2021.
Continuing his consistent ascent in the comedy realm, Brad Williams will be bringing his sellout crowd-inducing brand of stand-up to Chevalier Theatre next summer, as part of a massive 40+ date North American tour that lands him in Medford on July 26. This past July, Williams set up shop at The Wilbur with a pair of highly anticipated shows. In addition to his growing demand in the live stage, which just last year found him bringing his comedy chops to the world of Cirque du Soleil and their Mad Apple production, Williams also recently recorded a new hour of material, which is slated to be released as his next stand-up special later this year.
Additionally, Jonathan Van Ness has added a 9:45 p.m. late show to his stop at Chevalier Theatre on September 23.
Public on-sale for Hodgman and Van Ness starts today (August 4) at 10 a.m. ET, before Williams and Chase go on sale a bit later at noon ET.
