Fest Intentions: Boston Fuzzstival in Somerville, Massachusetts

Via Bandcamp

Somerville’s about to be abuzz with fuzz. After many years at The Middle East, and a recent stint at the Charles River Speedway, the Boston Fuzzstival will relocate to The Center for Arts at the Armory for its ninth edition. Illegally Blind’s all-ages fest returns Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16 with a lineup of 20-plus Boston and Northeast artists that span hip-hop to true fuzz-rock.

Vermont’s breakout post-punk group THUS LOVE (pictured above), Amherst alternative standout Mal Devisa, and Providence’s experimental export babybaby_explores exemplify the festival’s commitment to diversifying the sounds onstage, swirling robust synths with sparse songcraft.

Other artists on the roster with New England roots include Cliff Notez, Landowner, Jeanines, Dino Gala, (New England) Patriots, Pink Navel, Editrix, Rong, Constant Smiles, Nice Guys, Boston Cream, Strange Passage, Paper Lady, Ski Club, and Layzi. This year’s lineup also incorporates a healthy amount of New York acts — including Foyer Red, Open Head, and GIFT — and one West Coast visitor, Los Angeles’ GracieHorse, formerly of Fat Creeps.

Two-day passes are on sale now for $35, while single day tickets for Saturday and Sunday are $22 each. Snag your seats on EventBrite, and check out this year’s flyer below.
