Chappell Roan, Midwest Princess Tour, October 15
Remember back in March when all your friends went to see Chappell Roan in Cambridge and you stayed home because of that thing and that thing totally ended up being a big-ass, tasteless nothing burger? Yeah, well, we all remember that. Luckily, pop music often blesses us with “do-overs,” and yours arrives October 15 when Roan brings her Midwest Princess Tour to Citizens House of Blues. The Missouri singer-songwriter, who serves up “dark pop with ballad undertones” like few others, has a new single called “Red Wine Supernova” out this very week, so don’t sleep. Tickets go on sale Thursday (May 18) at 10 a.m. local time.
Corey Taylor, September 13
Like an anti-Billie Joe, we usually have a few reasons to look forward to September, and now we have two more: Corey Taylor has a new solo record called CMF2 coming out on September 15; and two days prior, the Slipknot and Stone Sour musician brings his solo tour to Citizens House of Blues for a September 13 romp on Lansdowne Street with Wargasm and Oxymorrons. To get us amped up, Taylor has this week shared the album’s lead single in “Beyond,” and he has this to say about it: “I originally wrote it as an aggressive romantic song, but I’m also looking at it now as a kind of ‘come together’ song. Bringing the masses together, and letting them know that I want my music to take them beyond what they may think about me.” Tickets go on sale Friday (May 19) at 10 a.m. local time.
