Well, we hate to say we told you so, but The Hives are still kicking all kinds of ass, more than two decades after we first lost our collective shit rocking out to the Swedish rock dynamo. Now, fresh of the release of unfuckwithable May single “Bogus Operandi,” Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist and the boys are back on our shores this fall, rolling out a 12-date North American tour that plays The Sinclair in Cambridge on November 1. Good luck to that Halloween bang-over, eh?
“The time has come to once again make our triumphant return to those United States of America,” The Hives write on Instagram. “Following the imminent success of our not-yet-released-soon-to-be-award-winning-new-album The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons we will play only these dates in only these cities. Let’s see if we can have a full comments section without mentioning other geographical locations? Onwards and upwards!”
Beyond our local date, the tour kicks off October 30 in Brooklyn and wraps November 14 in Los Angeles, not too far from where The Hives held court over the weekend at the Just Like Heaven festival. Peep all the dates below, and take note: “Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Wednesday local time if you have joined our mailing list,” The Hives warn us. “General sale Friday 10 a.m. local time.”
