Dane Cook plots a ‘perfectly shattered’ homecoming at The Wilbur

Any time Dane Cook makes his way back home, it feels like something of an unofficial holiday for those tuned in to his career. Well, the Dane Train is once again pulling into the hometown station for an all-out post-Thanksgiving comedy feast.

As announced earlier this week, the Arlington native has unleashed the latest batch of dates filling his schedule along the route of his Perfectly Shattered Tour, which brings him home to Boston’s Wilbur Theatre on November 24. While Cook has continued to tease a plethora of projects in the works including a documentary in the works about his life and career titled Brace For Impact, his most recent finished product came in the form of his sixth stand-up special, Above It All, which premiered on Moment in October 2022.

The show at The Wilbur will mark the first time Cook has taken the famed stage since a surprise spot on Bill Burr’s tribute benefit show in memory of longtime friend and fellow comedian Wayne Previdi in 2021.

But before Cook makes his way back to the homestead, Peabody native Gary Gulman will do the same by returning to The Wilbur on September 23 as part of his stand-up comedy and book tour to celebrate the release of his first book, Misfit: Growing Up Awkward in the ‘80s, which the comedian and now-author describes as “a tour-de-force of comedy and reflection about the perilous journey from kindergarten to twelfth grade and beyond.” The book is slated to arrive on September 19 via Flatiron Books, and is available for pre-order now.

The literary endeavor will be Gulman’s most recent project, following his wildly successful and critically-acclaimed stand-up special and documentary The Great Depresh, which premiered in 2019 and is currently streaming on HBO Max.

It’s almost habit at this point to have Michelle Wolf bring her latest comedy arsenal to town towards the end of the year, but we’re here for all of it, as the Daily Show contributor (and future guest host) will also be making a Wilbur return this year, as part of her It’s Great To Be Here tour on October 20. In addition to work as a contributor and writer on The Daily Show and Late Night with Seth Meyers, Wolf’s most recent stand-up special, 2019’s Joke Show, is currently streaming on Netflix.

Tickets to these shows can be accessed via The Regulars pre-sale starting at 10 a.m. today (May 3), before public pre-sale can be accessed using the code VANYA starting Thursday (May 4) at 10 a.m. ET. General on-sale for Gulman and Wolf starts on Friday (May 5) at 10 a.m. ET, with the exception of the Cook show, which goes on sale on Friday at noon ET.
