Garbage scale Siouxsie and the Banshees’ ’80s classic ‘Cities in Dust’

One of the more fun summer tour packages of 2023 hits Boston in July, when Garbage, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and Metric crash MGM Music Hall at Fenway for the final stop of their North American tour. And when Shirley Manson and the boys return to town, they’ll be armed with a new, inspired over, as Garbage have taken on Siouxsie and the Banshees’ 1986 classic alternative standard “Cities in Dust.” The cover arrives with the band’s Witness to Your Love EP for Record Store Day, and Manson sums up the effort quite nicely with a succinct tribute to Siouxsie Sioux: “Because without her, there would be no me.” Listen below, and get all the upcoming Garbage tour dates with Gallagher in the link above.
