Ava Max, June 6
We’re so amped for Ava Max’s upcoming North American tour, appropriately titled Ava Max On Tour (Finally), we hyped it earlier this week in our Band in the USA series, writing: “When we unleashed our 2022 Year in ReView coverage back in December, Max’s glittery and propulsive alt-pop banger ‘Maybe You’re The Problem’ was near the top of the list. But we also debated including ‘Million Dollar Baby’ in there too, because the American artist had one hell of a year and was a frequent voice in our daily playlists.” Both tracks were included on Max’s new album, January’s Diamonds & Dancefloors, and she brings it to Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on June 6. But we suspect this might be upgraded to a bigger room between now and then. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 7) at 10 a.m. local time.
Warpaint, September 13
Los Angeles indie mainstays Warpaint are touring with Death Cab For Cutie this summer, and have announced a handful of headline shows to keep the calendar full along the way. One of those dates is a September 13 romp at The Paradise Rock Club. Last year, Warpaint released fourth studio album Radiate Like This, and it gave us hypnotic singles like “Champion” and “Stevie,” the latter of which we hyped the second it dropped, describing it as “a floating new single that immediately has us in a cosmic weekend state of mind.” Tickets go on sale Friday (April 7) at 10 a.m. local time.
The Q-Tip Bandits, September 15
We love nothing more than seeing a Boston band level up and start playing the big rooms, and perhaps no big room has been as inviting to homegrown talent as The Paradise Rock Club. Now the ‘Dise welcomes The Q-Tip Bandits on September 15. The vibrant indie-pop act commands every stage, from last year’s appearances at Bellforge Arts Center and the Boston Music Awards to next month’s Boston Calling. This weekend, Ripe are playing a sold-out MGM Music Hall, and Q-Tip Bandits, carrying endless buzz around last year’s Melancholy Flowers album, are on a similar path. Don’t sleep. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 7) at 10 a.m. local time.
