KIDS prove ‘Worthy’ with a reflective and infectious indie-pop cruiser

Every now and again someone on the internet makes a claim that all the good band names are taken, and then along comes a project called KIDS. Falling somewhere in the human growth directory between DaBaby and ADULT. but sounding absolutely fucking nothing like either, the genre-bending London band is quickly making a name for itself based purely on music alone.

This past Friday (January 27) via Scruff Of The Neck, the relatively tough-to-Google KIDS dropped their latest single in “Worthy,” an infectious and reflective indie-pop cruiser that confronts our perceptions of masculinity and how notions of what is means to be a man can hinder forward social progress for all involved. The KIDS are alright, yeah.

“‘Worthy’ is an admission of guilt to the negative aspects of masculinity,” the band relays. “It talks about the self-destructive side of dating without an end goal — not being ready to commit and in the process hurting yourself and others around you because of your own insecurities. It is a discussion on masculinity, how a lot of men are taught to fight through their problems without fixing or resolving the issues that cause them.”

Word is this track and others will compose KIDS’ debut EP Love and the City 1, set for release later on. Stay tuned for more, a lot more.
