Sometime over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, while we were lost in a haze of Tryptophan, Bailey’s, and relatives arguing over floats in a parade, we came across Tommy Lee’s “Bouncy Castle”, the new single and video from the Mötley Crüe drummer that has to be seen to be believed. We thought we were just hallucinating, allowing a sick and twisted fantasyland to take us away from our mundane lives, and stored it away deep in the bowels of our phones, never to be viewed again. Now that the haze has lifted, we’ve come to realize “Bouncy Castle” actually exists, and we’re not sure if we’ll ever be the same again.
While the music revolves around a repeated electro nu-metal groove loop that seems like something we’d hear stomping onto the grounds of next year’s Gathering of the Juggalos, the digital visual from Smearballs is absolutely unhinged, and fully lives up to its NSFW label. It takes place inside a hellscape hotel room soaked in an aura of energy drinks and mayhem, filled with adult toys, sexual innuendo, and a whole lot of puke and boobs.
Shit, the hardest thing we’ve done this month was snapping a screengrab for a featured image that wouldn’t get us banned from social media, and we settled for a shot where a giant python acts as Lee’s cock as it escapes his pants and hovers above him. There’s something batshit bonkers in literally every scene, so we’re not going to recap it any further than that. The video is six minutes long, but after a minute or so the viewer clearly gets the idea of what’s going on here, but repeated viewings are necessary to absorb every fucked up thing flashing relentlessly across the screen
