Powder Pink & Sweet fall into a dream-pop lullaby on ‘My Fragile Heart’

On any given Friday we often talk about swan diving into the weekend, but rarely do we consider how we’re destined land. Powder Pink & Sweet have offered up a pillow of a song fit to catch our fall, cradling us in dream-pop comfort as we drift as far away from the chaotic workweek as possible.

The Los Angeles group this week delivered new single “My Fragile Heart”, and it’s a lullaby of a tune that founder Cris Verso describes to Flood as “a vulnerable and honest unpacking of emotions,” and it “captures those things we all feel but rarely say as she rallies her heart not to break one more time.”

It’s a dreamy world Verso has conjured up here, made all the more emotionally driven when informed that Powder Pink & Sweet was formed by the musician as an outlet of emotive creativity after the passing of her mother. Powder Pink & Sweet are now set to release new album Little Stories on November 4. “After my mom died in 2015, I mustered up the courage to develop it and become more serious,” says Verso. “These songs represent the struggle to balance hope and positivity with an undercurrent of melancholia and heartache.”
