In just a few weeks, musicians will be slithering down to Lizard Lounge once again. The Cambridge club reopens Friday, September 30, welcoming the public back into its basement embrace for the first time since March 2020.
“It’s true, Lizard Lounge is reopening on September 30th after almost 2 and a half years of being closed due to the pandemic,” the club writes on Instagram. “Stay tuned for more information, we are so excited to be back.”
Lizard Lounge will host live music and poetry on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, beginning with two performances from Club D’Elf and Lyle Brewer to celebrate the venue’s reopening. Other shows on the calendar as of print time include MC Kabir & the Krush Faktory (October 1), Old Jack (October 8) Organically Good Trio (October 14), Vapors of Morphine (October 28), and Dub Apocalypse (October 29). The club’s weekly Sunday night Poetry Jam commences October 2.
Lizard Lounge is among the final independent venues in the area to reopen in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic; fellow Cambridge clubs Toad, Atwood’s Tavern, and Charlie’s Kitchen fully reopened at the beginning of this year.
