JB Smoove soothes the pain with some ‘Physical Therapy’ at The Wilbur

Via The Wilbur

Trips to a Boston stand-up stage may be something of a rare treat from JB Smoove, but judging by the sheer amount of high-octane comedy force he’s brought to numerous on-screen performances over the years, there’s no doubt a visit from the man himself, live in the flesh, is going to be a night to remember.

Making his way to Boston’s Wilbur Theatre on September 30, the comedy lifer brings his latest stand-up effort to the stage as a part of his Physical Therapy Tour. Having been 10 years separated from his last stand-up special (2012’s That’s How I Dooz It), there’s no telling where things will go with Smoove’s penchant for pulling inspiration from every facet of life and culture to deliver a crushing set of high-energy comedy.

In addition to his on-screen efforts Julius Dell in both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Spider-Man: Far From Home, as well as Jerrod Carmichael’s On The Count of Three, Smoove has also kept himself busy over the course of the last few years with publishing a book, 2017’s The Book of Leon, appearing in a number of TV and streaming shows including the reprisal of his role on Larry David’s iconic series Curb Your Enthusiasm, and most recently, hosting the May I Elaborate? Daily Wisdom from JB Smoove podcast.

While Smoove makes his trips to the city few and far between, one such comedy great who can’t seem to get enough of the area (and we’re not complaining) is Brian Regan, who is slated to return to the Commonwealth for the third time in less than a year with two nights at The Wilbur starting on November 4. Although Regan’s top-tier comedy delivery can speak for itself with the immense following and respect he’s garnered over the course of more than 30 years in the game, you can also check out his latest artistic efforts in the form of two Netflix specials, 2021’s On The Rocks and 2017’s Nunchucks and Flamethrowers, in addition to his sketch comedy show, Standup and Away!, which ran for one season on Netflix after premiering in 2018.

Tickets for these shows can be accessed now via presale by using the code VANYA before they are released to public on-sale on Friday (August 19) at noon ET.
