Since we all pretty much hate our families these days, our prime idea of generations happily coming together involves genres over relatives. So we’re stoked to see She Wants Revenge announce a slew of fall tour dates with post-punk pioneers Chameleons on board as direct support, a run that kicks off November 1 here at Brighton Music Hall in Brighton.
We’re nearly 20 years removed from She Wants Revenge’s unfuckwithable 2005 debut album (“Tear You Apart” and “These Things” still slay) and nearly 40 from Chameleons’ masterful 1983 debut effort Script of the Bridge, so this is a layered nostalgia trip worth leaving the house over.
“It’s amazing,” She Wants Revenge’s Justin Warfield says of the tour pairing. “Since the beginning we’ve had the good fortune to play with bands who we love and who influenced us. So to share the stage with them is incredible. It’s going to be a deep, beautiful night of music and we can’t wait.”
She Wants Revenge are currently on tour on the West Coast, playing Portland tonight. Check all dates from the current run, as well as the Chameleons leg this autumn, below. Tickets for the She Wants Revenge and Chameleons dates go on sale this Friday (August 19).
“Being without live music for such a long stretch during the pandemic was devastating not only as a fan, but also as a musician,” adds Warfield. “When it was finally safe enough to unmask and play with friends in a rehearsal room, it was amazing, but it still wasn’t the same as the unpredictability and energy of a real show.”
Revisit that debut album and dive in.
