Muse bring the heavy metal artillery on ‘Kill Or Be Killed’

Muse have a new record out next month, and today (July 21) the trio raise the intensity with “Kill Or Be Killed,” an immediate live favorite that delivers some heavy metal artillery. Apparently the English band have been playing this one live during their summer festival shows, and it’s become an instant favorite. It sure adds a certain heaviness, and the decision by Muse to release it early upon fan demand plays nicely into the LP’s title — Will Of The People is out August 26 via Warner/Helium-3.

“’Kill Or Be Killed’ is Muse at their heaviest!” says Matt Bellamy. “We wanted to update our hard rock sound on this album and with ‘Kill Or Be Killed’ we found a modern metal sound featuring double bass drum action and even a death growl. Lyrically the song takes influence from my favorite Paul McCartney song ‘Live And Let Die’, a dark take on how life’s adversity can sometimes bring out the worst human instincts to survival at any costs.”

That’s all pretty Muse! Crank this one up via its visual, and bring some loudness to this otherwise stale day.
