The Fort Point Arts Community is about to unleash its wiild side.

Cliff Notez, Nick AR Martin, and HipStory unveil a new art exhibit named Wiild Wonderland this Sunday (July 17) at the FPAC Assemblage Art Space, adding a new chapter to Notez’ varied scrapbook of creative projects. The collection of over 65 works of art will remain on display in the Seaport through Friday, August 12.

Like much of Notez’ past projects, Wiild Wonderland forges into the often homogenous and white-washed world of museums and art galleries. Their Sketchbook live music series, for instance, also makes space for hip-hop artists at Atwood’s Tavern in Cambridge, a venue which typically books folk music and traditionally white genres. Explains the exhibit’s description: “This exhibition features an in-depth and tangible dive into the complexities of Blackness by using space and performance as its medium. It explores the importance of love, compassion, and friendship through a multidimensional lens and aims to leave audience members immersed with the opportunity for self-exploration.”

The tangible aspect of the collection comes alive on Sunday evening, as Boston artists Lisa Bello, Lightfoot, and Adobo Fish Sauce perform amidst the artwork during a free opening night event.

“I wanna give people the opportunity to feel like a kid again — to look at life and love with that same kind of innocence and naivety that sparks excitement,” Notez shares. Considering that Wiild Wonderland continues their riffs on the classic children’s book Where the Wild Things Are, reconnecting with a youthful state of wonder and joy should come naturally.
