Welcome to the sweaty, sticky days of summer, perfectly ripe for an outdoor show or two — a.k.a. the Boston Music Awards pre-season.
Taking a page from their annual Sound of Our Town compilation of Boston music, the BMAs have announced a dozen Sound of Our Town performances at The Fenway, a cultural hub located at 401 Park Dr. The series continues the BMAs’ tradition of free programming, which in the past has included its Summer Sounds and Ones2Watch performances.
The outdoor shows run through mid-September, bringing both established and emerging Boston talent to the Green at 401 Park every Friday between 4 and 7 p.m.
Grace Givertz (pictured above) and Annie Cheevers kicked off the series on June 24, and after a quick break for the July 4 weekend, the performances resume tomorrow (July 8) with sets from Paper Tigers and Dutch Tulips. More artists will be announced on a weekly basis via the Boston Music Awards’ Instagram page.
You don’t need tickets to swing by, but RSVPs are recommended; put your name on the list here and check out the full list of dates below.
