There’s been yet another shift in this year’s Boston Calling headliners. The festival tonight announced that The Strokes will not play Saturday night (May 28), due to a case of COVID-19 amongst the band. Nine Inch Nails will perform a second set in their place Saturday evening.
“Due to a positive COVID case in The Strokes, who were scheduled to headline on Saturday, May 28th, the band will no longer be able to perform at the Festival,” the statement from Boston Calling reads. “Tonight’s headliner, Nine Inch Nails, will headline a second set on Saturday, May 28th in place of The Strokes, and we are enormously grateful to them for stepping in for what is sure to be another electrifying performance at Boston Calling.”
“We are incredibly sorry and we will do our best to get back to Boston soon,” The Strokes shared on Twitter.
Nine Inch Nails were added to the 2022 edition of the festival in April to replace original Friday headliner Foo Fighters, who cancelled their set after the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
