So, this week is Cinemacon, which is a big showcase that the studios put on for exhibitors (theater owners, etc.) in order to highlight their upcoming titles. That means there’s going to be a shitload of news, most of which you probably could guess having a pair of eyes and ears and a functioning brain (hey guys, did you know there’s gonna be a Batman sequel?), trailers we will not be able to see for some time being shown there — already, folks have gotten looks at The Flash, Black Adam, Aquaman 2, Don’t Worry Darling and a full half-hour of Lightyear, among plenty of others — but it’s the stuff that’s already pretty much in the bag that’s deemed worthy of the public’s attention. Hence, a brand new trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion, coming in hot on the heels of the last one just a few weeks ago. It still looks like a Jurassic World movie, in case you were worried about Colin Trevorrow and company sneaking in some sort of abstract visual art film as the world’s craziest bait-and-switch.
Peep it:
Here’s a synopsis:
“From ‘Jurassic World’ architect and director Colin Trevorrow, ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live — and hunt — alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.”
Jurassic World: Dominion hits theaters on June 10, and you can go ahead and buy your tickets now if you should choose to. We’re just wondering if this film’s inevitable box-office mega-success means that Universal will try to cross over with one of their other hit franchises: We’re picturing Jurassic World: The Minions next. Title’s perfect.
