Fresh off two killer sets at Coachella and ahead of an opening slot on Halsey’s “Love and Power” tour, beabadoobee has blessed us with a noisy new trip of a tune called “See You Soon.” The fuzzed-out track dropped yesterday (April 25), swirling around a therapeutic realization via hallucinogenic mushrooms that led to a newfound appreciation of everything around her and the ability to overcome mistakes, and will be featured on her sophomore album Beatopia, out July 15 via Dirty Hit.

“I feel like the idea behind ‘See You Soon’ is that it’s meant to make you feel like you’re tripping on shrooms,” beabadoobee says in a press release. “Or, I feel like the chorus especially, I want it to sound like a breath of fresh air, like, you know, like a realization of some sort.”

On Twitter, she went even deeper on the personal tip: “This song is so so special to me and hits much harder listening to it at this particular time. This is my favorite song off Beatopia and the connection I have with ‘See You Soon’ compares to no other song I have sat down and wrote. It is yours now to hear.”

And hear it we will. As part of a healthy slate of 2022 live appearances, beabadoobee will appear at upcoming festivals like Governors Ball, Newport Folk, Hangout, Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and plays New York City’s Radio City Music Hall with Bleachers in July. That Halsey tour, by the way, brings her to Mansfield’s Xfinity Center on June 1.

“See You Soon,” indeed.
