Last July, MonaVeli told us exactly where you can find her: Sitting by herself “like the new kid,” counting her cash and checks in blissful solitude. Just under a year later, not much has changed — but the Boston emcee did upgrade her location. “I’d rather cry in a Bentley so I can chase new feelings” she raps on “PINK,” the opening track of her debut EP RICH, which dropped last week (April 15).
The new project shares its riches through a wealth of bars and wit, combining a few 2021 singles (“Wants and Needs,” “TRUTH”) with new tracks sound as sweet as a cash register ka-ching. And the titles’ all-capitalization nature is by design.
