We’re always a sucker for a colorful cover over here at Vanyaland, and The Fatal Flaw have delivered one that’s sure to be a fixture on our hot summer nights playlist from now through Labor Day. The Boston power-pop purveyors take on a playful version of Whitney Houston’s chart-topper “How Will I Know,” complete with an ’80s-flavored music video directed and edited by Fatal Flaw guitarist Glen Fant
“It started as a cover for the Mixtape 1985 show, and then we just kept it in our setlist because it was so fun,” Fant tells Vanyaland. “It was such a blast tracking down all the ’80s decor, doing Lite Brite animations, and learning how to build a balloon arch!”
The world absolutely needs more balloon arches. The “How Will I Know” video was filmed at Taffeta Studios in Lowell, “back in the hot vaxxed summer days” of last July, Fant adds. Embrace the warmer weather, bust out that workout gear, and check it out below.
