The lineups for spring and summer music festivals have come in waves over the past few weeks, and now comes one made for the waves: Sea.Hear.Now sets up shop just off the Atlantic at New Jersey’s North Beach Asbury Park and Bradley Park on September 17 and 18. The fest is headlined by Green Day and Stevie Nicks, with a full slate of surfing competitions giving the whole thing a pretty unique identity.

Other bands and artists taking part are My Morning Jacket, Cage The Elephant, Billy Strings, Gary Clark Jr., The Head and the Heart, IDLES, Shakey Graves, Courtney Barnett, and a band called The Surfrajettes, who pretty much had to be invited to play this.

Here’s more on the surf component, because our boogie boarding days at Robert Moses’ Field 2 on Long Island are way, wayyyyy behind us: “The surf action in the water between Surf and Sand Stage will be more intense in 2022, with the introduction of ‘The North Beach Rumble’ surf contest. The contest will feature two teams captained by East Coast legends Cory Lopez and Sam Hammer and will showcase the best women and men on the Eastern Seaboard like return champions Cassidy McClain and Eric Geiselman competing for a prize purse and bragging rights awarded for the best overall style and creativity.”

Sounds legit! There’s some other fun stuff involved here too, like Danny Clinch’s Transparent Gallery, so get all the details via the Sea.Hear.Now homepage. Two-day general admission tickets start at $175, and go on sale today (March 9), along with tiers like GA+, VIP, Platinum, and Ultimate Experience. Children under 7 get in free, and you gotta admit, that’s pretty gnarly.
