Brad Pitt kicks ass on the railways in the ‘Bullet Train’ trailer

It’s not every day that you get a trailer that will probably be used by Pete Buttigieg in a congressional hearing to demonstrate public support for high-speed rail, but, hey, David Leitch’s Bullet Train is here to shatter those glass ceilings. What’s Bullet Train about, you ask? Well, it’s about Brad Pitt fighting a whole bunch of assassins on board one of those super-cool feats of modern engineering, and the title is a double-entendre, which we can respect, given that, according to that DNA test we took over Thanksgiving, we’re 68 percent pun. But don’t let Bullet Train‘s advertising and Leitch’s pedigree (which is not the best!) fool you: We’ve been hearing some pretty fun things about this one, and you’ll probably want to go ahead and put it in your planner, especially after you watch this fresh trailer that Sony dropped on Wednesday morning.

Peep it:

Here’s a synopsis, which is pretty confident that you liked Deadpool 2 enough to enjoy this movie. Right? Right?

“An original movie event, ‘Bullet Train’ is a fun, delirious action-thriller from the director of ‘Deadpool 2,’ David Leitch. Brad Pitt headlines an ensemble cast of eclectic, diverse assassins — all with connected yet conflicting objectives — set against the backdrop of a non-stop ride through modern-day Japan.”

Bullet Train will speed into theaters on July 15. To be perfectly honest, we totally thought this was that Ryan Gosling-led Netflix movie The Gray Man pretty much until we saw Pitt’s face in the trailer. Lots of movies these days about misfit assassins, huh? Then again, that’s pretty much been Leitch’s whole career up until this point, so we’re not really sure what we expected.
