COUCOU CHLOE seduces and sedates on the driving ‘WIZZ’

Screengrab

We first got hip to the brazen musicianship of COUCOU CHLOE back in September, when the French DJ/producer, singer, and co-founder of music collective and record label Nuxxe appeared on Lady Gaga remix album Dawn of Chromatica, stripping away the bubblegum beat of “Stupid Love” to reveal a more macabre type of midnight romp. Now, the artist born Erika Jane is taking us deep into the early morning hours and delivering us to the afterparty of her own dawn, and it’s fueled by a new electro club banger called “WIZZ.”

Released earlier this month (November 11), the self-produced and vocalized “WIZZ” is a bass-mad track that seduces and sedates, an intoxicating brand of hypnotism by way of claustrophobia. It’ll be featured on COUCOU CHLOE’s upcoming third EP, ONE, which hits December 9.

The striking visual for “WIZZ” was directed by collaborator Samuel Ibram, and finds CHLOE inviting us into her world through the back of a pink limousine.

“I want to express myself through a lot of mediums,” she tells Crack Magazine in a recent interview. “You know, there is the music, but I also want to build my own universe…”

Beam us the fuck up.
