The Boston rapper readies a radar for fake love on her new single “TRUTH,” a blistering collaboration with fellow East Coast emcee Tsu Surf. The Humbeats-produced track dropped yesterday (November 8), unveiling another entry in MonaVeli’s methods for musical success business-minded catalogue.
“This piece embodies the struggle and value in remaining humble even when your back’s against the wall,” MonaVeli tells Vanyaland. “Tsu Surf’s raw delivery and genuine hunger to be successful despite everything he talks about going through in his music made him the perfect feature for a track I consider one of my most authentic.”
The candid attitude of “TRUTH” even softens the blow of MonaVeli’s ever-assertive flow on the chorus, as she lowers her emotional guard but keeps her eyes peeled for phonies. “I still got love in me too,” she sings, thwarting any bitterness over fake hype men and hypocrisy.
