Marc Rebillet wasn’t the only artist improvising at Royale last night (September 6).
Following an opening set that heavily teased her upcoming album Unbothered, Boston rapper Oompa hopped onstage with Rebillet to freestyle over some of his infamous ad-lib-electronica. In this instance, a loop inspired by a concertgoer who proclaimed “support local businesses!” after Rebillet kissed her on the ass. You had to be there.
Luckily, you didn’t need to be there to catch a taste of Oompa’s freestyle, and unsurprisingly, she doesn’t miss a beat. And neither does Rebillet, who successfully caps off the song by creatively enumerating all the ways he’d like to support local coffee shops and drug dealers business owners.
Watch your favorite new duo get down below, and head’s up: Oompa continues her big-room rise next month, when she headlines The Paradise Rock Club on October 6.
