Editor’s Note: The 2019 Boston Music Awards will likely go down for exhibiting many notable things last night (December 11) at The House of Blues: Dorchester rapper Cousin Stizz winning another Artist of the Year award, adding to his influence over what’s traditionally a rock and roll town; a moving tribute to The Cars’ great Ric Ocasek via Eddie Japan and keyboardist Greg Hawkes; and Brockton hip-hop dynamo collective Van Buren closing the night with a fury.

But what will likely stand out the most were the performances throughout the evening; 10 in total, representing a wide cross-section of our city’s music scene. Vanyaland’s John Hutchings was up front for it all, capturing the stage antics for one of the better live presentations in BMA’s history.

Score the list of winners here, and scan through his full gallery below, featuring (in order): $eanWire and Najee Janey, Brandie Blaze, Eddie Japan with Greg Hawkes, Future Teens, Hawthorn, House of Harm, Jefe Replay, Optic Bloom, Roy Juno, and Van Buren.
