Photo Gallery: Battles and Guerilla Toss live in Boston

Editor’s Note: Yeah, sure the BMAs were happening last night, but that wasn’t the only noisy racket being made across Boston. Hometown heroes we call Pixies were out in North Station, and Brooklyn experimental duo Battles were at Brighton Music Hall, livening up an Allston crowd on an inspired bill that also featured one-time Bostonians in Guerilla Toss. Battles, comprised of drummer John Stanier and guitarist/keyboardist Ian Williams, were back in our city showing off fourth studio album Juice B Crypts, and both performances had the crowd all worked up (demands for Guerilla Toss to extend their opening set were made quite loudly by the assembled onlookers). Vanyaland’s María Alejandra Mata was in the Allston venue capturing visuals of both bands, and you can flip through her full gallery below.
